Other treatments are gum surgery and placing implants (see periodontology and implantology).<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Tooth extraction<\/h3>\n<p>If you have made an appointment for tooth extraction, make sure you eat properly beforehand. If you are on medication, just take your pills or tablets as usual. If you take anticoagulants, please tell us well in advance. It is advisable to always bring a list of the medication you take with you.<\/p>\n<p>Extraction of teeth is usually a painless procedure carried out under local anaesthetics. As soon as these kick in, we gently loosen the tooth by turning it or rocking it back and forth. Usually the entire tooth is removed. If the tooth will not budge, or is in extremely poor condition, it will be removed in parts.<\/p>\n<h3>Aftercare<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not eat or drink anything hot until the sedation has worn off.<\/li>\n<li>Do not clean the location of the wound for the first 24 hours after extraction. Brush your other teeth as you normally do.<\/li>\n<li>You can use antibacterial mouthwash to keep the environment of the wound clean.<\/li>\n<li>Also limit your smoking and alcohol consumption to a minimum the first day after extraction.<\/li>\n<li>Leave the blood clot that has formed alone. Maar ook operaties aan het tandvlees of het plaatsen van implantaten vallen hieronder (zie parodontologie en implantologie).<\/p><h3>Het trekken van een tand of kies<\/h3><p>Als u een afspraak heeft voor het trekken van een tand of kies moet u van tevoren gewoon goed eten. Slikt u medicijnen, neem die dan gewoon in. Gebruikt u antistollingsmedicatie, meldt dit dan ruim van tevoren. Het is overigens raadzaam om altijd een lijstje bij u te hebben met de geneesmiddelen die u gebruikt.<\/p><p>Het trekken van een tand of kies gebeurt meestal pijnloos onder lokale verdoving. Zodra deze is ingewerkt, maken wij uw tand\/kies los door een draaiende of wrikkende beweging te maken. Meestal wordt de tand of kies er in zijn geheel uitgetrokken. Als de tand of kies erg vast zit of in zeer slechte staat verkeert, wordt hij er veelal in delen uitgehaald.<\/p><h3>Aanbevelingen<\/h3><ul><li>Eet of drink niks warms tot de verdoving is uitgewerkt.<\/li><li>Reinig ook de plaats van de wond de eerste 24 uur na het trekken niet. Poets wel uw andere tanden zoals u normaal doet. U kunt de omgeving van de wond schoonhouden met een antibacterieel mondspoelmiddel.<\/li><li>Beperk de eerste dag na het trekken ook het roken of alcohol drinken tot een minimum<\/li><li>Laat de bloedprop die zich vormt met rust.
